Frequently asked question

Does sleep affect weight?

Sleep can affect how manageable food, movement and daily routines feel. Improving sleep is worthwhile even when the scale does not immediately change.

Treat the sleep problem itself

Do not assume tiredness is just your weight or a lack of willpower. Persistent insomnia, loud snoring with breathing pauses, or marked daytime sleepiness can need assessment. A sleep routine is a starting point, not a substitute for that assessment.

What you can do next

Choose a consistent waking time and a workable wind-down. If sleep problems persist or affect daily life, speak to a GP.
