Name the thing you actually want back
Try a concrete answer: walking with your partner, carrying shopping more comfortably, joining a game or having enough energy for an evening out. You can still have an appearance goal, but giving it company makes the plan less dependent on a mirror.
Keep health checks separate from photographs
A photograph cannot establish your blood pressure, cholesterol, fitness or mental wellbeing. If you have symptoms or concerns, seek an appropriate health check. A lean appearance does not rule out a health problem, and a larger body does not tell somebody else what activity you can do.
Choose progress you can notice
- Pick an activity you want to make easier and write down what is difficult about it now.
- Choose a manageable food or movement change that connects to that goal.
- Review how the change feels as well as whether you repeated it.
- Include rest, enjoyment and relationships in the picture.
- If comparison posts leave you feeling worse, change what you follow or take a break from the feed.
Do not wait to deserve support
You can ask about your health, buy comfortable clothes or take part in a suitable activity at your current size. If worries about shape, eating or exercise are becoming consuming, speak to a healthcare professional. More tracking is not always the useful answer. My Timber can organise an ordinary next step; it does not diagnose body-image or eating problems.
